Residential Cleaning Checklist
Turning Spaces into Stunning Experiences
Before Starting (Every Visit)
Review client notes/preferences (allergies, scent preferences, pets, no-shoe policy, etc.)
Use only approved eco-certified, non-toxic products.
Use color-coded microfiber cloths (kitchen/bathroom/general/glass).
Set up a clean tool kit: mop heads, vacuum filters, cloths, all fresh.
Open windows briefly if weather/owner preference allows (air quality).
Entrance / Hallways
Dust high areas: corners, ceiling edges, vents, light fixtures.
Wipe: Doors, Handles, Light switches, Door frames.
Dust: Pictures, Mirrors, Baseboards, Decorative items.
Vacuum or sweep floors (including edges).
Mop hard floors with eco-floor cleaner (appropriate for surface).
Arrange shoes/coats neatly (if requested).
Living Room / Family Room
Declutter surfaces (stack magazines, fold blankets, arrange pillows).
Dust from top to bottom: Ceiling fans, light fixtures, Shelves, frames, décor, Electronics (dry microfiber only on screens).
Clean glass surfaces and mirrors with eco glass cleaner.
Wipe coffee tables, side tables, and consoles.
Spot clean walls and doors for fingerprints.
Vacuum upholstery (sofas, chairs; remove cushions if possible).
Vacuum rugs and carpets (including under easily movable furniture).
Mop hard floors (if applicable).
Final presentation: fold throws, align cushions, stage room neatly.
Kitchen
Surfaces
Clear and neatly arrange items on counters.
Wipe countertops and backsplash with food-safe eco cleaner.
Wipe exterior of: Fridge (front, handles, top if accessible), Oven and range, Dishwasher, Microwave (inside and out).
Clean stove top (remove grates if possible; wipe under).
Sink & Fixtures
Clean and disinfect the sink and drain area with eco disinfectant.
Polish faucet and handles (spot-free shine).
Wipe cabinet fronts and handles (spot clean heavy use areas).
Small Appliances
Wipe the exteriors of the toaster, coffee machine, kettle, etc.
Clean inside microwave (turntable, walls, door).
Floors
Sweep/vacuum floor (under table and movable items).
Mop with an appropriate eco floor solution.
Extras (If Included in Service)
Empty trash and recycling; replace liners (use biodegradable bags if brand standard).
Inside fridge (quick wipe of spills or full clean if booked).
Inside oven (if booked).
Inside cabinets/drawers (if booked).
Bathrooms
General
Ventilate bathroom (turn on fan or open window if appropriate).
Dust light fixtures, vents, and high ledges.
Surfaces & Fixtures
Clean and disinfect: Sinks and faucets, Countertops, Backsplash.
Clean mirrors with eco glass cleaner.
Wipe cabinet fronts and hardware.
Toilet
Apply eco toilet cleaner to the bowl and under the rim.
Scrub bowl and under rim; flush.
Disinfect exterior: seat (top/bottom), lid, base, flush handle.
Shower / Tub
Clean tile, glass doors.
Rinse and wipe dry to avoid water spots.
Polish fixtures.
Floors & Finishing
Empty trash; replace liner (eco liners if possible).
Sweep/vacuum floor (including behind the door, around the toilet base).
Mop with bathroom-safe eco disinfectant.
Fold/hang towels neatly; stage toiletries neatly.
Bedrooms
Make beds (change linens if clean set provided or as per plan).
Declutter visible surfaces (nightstands, dressers).
Dust all surfaces: Lamps and shades, Headboards, Frames, mirrors, décor.
Wipe reachable switches, handles, and door frames.
Clean mirrors and glass surfaces.
Vacuum carpets and rugs (under bed edges if accessible).
Mop hard floors.
Neatly arrange pillows and blankets.
Dining Room
Dust light fixtures and artwork.
Dust and polish the dining table and chairs.
Wipe chair backs and legs (especially where hands touch).
Clean any glass surfaces or cabinets (fingerprints).
Vacuum or sweep and mop floors.
Special & Luxury Touches
Use lightly scented or unscented eco products as per client preference.
Fold hand towels or tissues in a simple luxury presentation.
Align items on countertops and vanities (symmetry and order).
Check for smudges on doors, stainless steel, and glass before leaving.
Final walk-through: room-by-room visual check for streaks, missed dust, or footprints.
End of Visit
Remove all trash and used materials; take out trash/recycling if included.
Clean and pack tools; separate used microfiber for laundering.
Note any maintenance issues (mold, leaks, damage, pest signs).
Update client notes for next visit (preferences, special requests, issues).
